Rarely do I post all in black & white, but "M" is really so stunning and dramatic that she pulls it off and I love her shots. We worked together to create her senior portraits in (where else?) downtown Birmingham a few weeks ago. I'm super pleased with these and really enjoyed working with her. She's a doll! Thanks "M."
Also, regarding the Gratitude Gala, spaces are filling quickly (we have to limit it due to space constraints) and we're super excited to be giving away some awesome prizes. Please be in touch if you haven't RSVP-ed yet. For more details, please CALL (don't e-mail because I'm never in the office anymore and don't see my e-mail while I'm out and about) to reserve your place. See you soon :) |

Things have been incredibly busy here. We're gearing up for our first Graititude Gala for our clients and supporters on October 8 and November 12 and I'll be heading to DC / Baltimore next weekend. Just trying to keep above water.
Love this whole gang! I know both moms are geeked to see these online. Thanks everyone :) |

More cuties from the recent Lansing Urban Kids sessions. Loved these three -- each came with their own style and tons of personality. Mom asked "Just get one of him not unhappy." Once we started hanging out and chatting, things just fell into place and the smiles came out. Thanks, gang! |

Just getting through all of the sessions from last weekend (and clearing the camera flash cards before the next round of sessions this weekend!).
The Lansing Urban Kids sessions were awesome! Everyone did a fantastic job and I really loved our location -- Old Town in Lansing. It has that quaint small town Main Street feel but wad completely DEAD (unlike in Birmingham where I'm getting used to dodging major crowds). I ljust LOVED working with little "B" and her parents. They are all super cool and laid back, just the kind of clients I love (here's a hint: when mom and dad relax and go with the flow, so do the kids most of the time). "B" has crazy hair just like one of those little gnomes that you can shake and their hair flies all over the place, and the warmest, sunniest smile. She was a true pleasure to photograph. Thanks gang :) |

I really love this young family (below) with whom I worked recently. They came all the way from San Francisco with their adorable little son, "A." |

Lots of family sessions recently, including these beauties below. I worked with the "W" family from New York, who were in to visit family a few weeks ago. We used these images to create beautiful Rosh Hashana cards for next week's Jewish New Year. We also captured a few with Grandma and Grandpa (perfect for today's post as it's Grandparents Day). Also, worked with the gorgeous "G" twins below, "A" and "M." These shots were taken in and around their home in downtown Birmingham. Beautiful boys!
Yesterday I did 8 (yes, count them, EIGHT) sessions -- I left the house at 7:30 a.m. and didn't return until after 8:00 p.m. I went as far as Royal Oak and Birmingham to Lansing. We had amazing weather and a perfect set of sessions with fabulous kiddos. Lots of images to show from yesterday, as soon as I catch my breath and have a chance to take a peek. |

That's what my trusty UPS delivery man said today as he walked up the driveway with a stack of boxes as tall as him. And business IS good thanks to all of you! I'll be announcing an exciting event for my clients (and friends of clients) coming up later this fall -- we went all out and pulled out all the stops to show you how grateful we are for your business and support. Keep your eyes open for the announcement very soon.
In the meantime, meet beautiful "E". She is the first client whose father is a professional photographer (no pressure there!) -- I'm flattered that they worked with me and even more flattered that they loved the images. You can always the children of photographers too -- they either know exactly what to do in front of the camera ("E") or they refuse to participate because it's so old hat as is the case with my 2-year-old son (I can't get a shot without him wanting to see the LCD screen after every frame).
ALSO, a note for photographers interested in my mentorship program. We only work with a very small number of people at a given time and we're not accepting new clients just now but we're gearing up for new programs to begin shortly after the New Year. We're also partnering with Lori Nordstrom (my friend and hero!) and phototalkforum.com with a nice offer for the program. To find out more, become a member of phototalkforum.com and hang out with us there!
We're crazy busy between now and November so the bad news is that the session slots are pretty much all done for 2009. The good news is that there are lots of blog shots coming. Sit back, relax, and enjoy the show! |
