Scottish Lasses . . . My Favorite Blue-eyed Girls. . .

I've been watching these wee lasses grow and change since they were both babies and nothing gives me more pleasure than to get my lens on these blue-eyed beauties once a year or so. We met up at Waldenwoods last weekend for a chilly but beautiful sun-kissed October morning and played in the field and on the playground, capturing these two lovely belles.

Puddle Jumpin' With "P" . . . Bec & Sam's Commercial Session Makes A Splash!

Last week we had nothing but rain, rain, rain and a whole lineup of models ready to do their thing for the Bec & Sam's commercial shoot. Most clients would probably wish to reschedule or shoot in the studio, but I was super lucky that "P" and mom showed up ready (and more than willing) to go out and play. "P" even brought the perfect boots. When I asked her if she would be willing to jump in the puddle, she more than obliged again, and again, and again.

This young actor and competitive figure staker really has the looks, the talent, and the personality to make any situation work. When we returned to the studio she literally dumped cups of water out from her boots and was soaked to the bone, but her sunny smile and bubbly personality still warmed us all. Thanks for being so much fun, "P" and mom. Memorable shoot, for sure :)

Halloween Preview . . . Sir Connor (a.k.a. My Knight In Shining Armor)

Got all dressed up for a Halloween festival on Saturday and thought it was most likely the best shot I was going to get of capturing Sir Connor this year . . . such a cutie :) Of course, for a four-year-old boy, the whole choice of costume revolved around one thing: the sword. Brad and I are going as Merlin the Wizard and Gwenevere to complement Sir Connor.

All Dressed Up . . . Maryland Travel Session

I had the privilege of working for the "N" family again (worked with them in 2008 - you'll notice images of the girls in my portfolio) a few weeks ago during a travel session to Maryland. We had scheduled a session for Saturday morning but as it turned out, they had to leave town for a funeral and traveled to . . . of all places . . . metro Detroit. They returned Sunday night and we met up again Monday morning for the design consultation as I was heading back West. We were almost ships passing both ways. So instead of a sunny, Saturday morning, we did a beautiful Friday sunset shoot. Girls all dressed in their Halloween best and running around in a beautiful backlit field . . . Lucci the dog competing to be star of the show. Love the amazing specular highlights and "halo" glow in so many of the shots.

I love working with this family on their amazing horse boarding ranch. Such a fun group that I hope to continue to get to know more as time goes on . . . returning in a couple of weeks to capture a few more of the gang and back again next Spring.

Spent some time with the "L" family recently and had a blast photographing young Ms. "G" around the studio. We had a great time on our own while mom and dad were tending to the newborn twins (shots of the boys coming soon). Nothing is more fun than a young girl feeling good about herself and getting extra special attention. Ms. "G" got a number of flattering comments from passers-by, for good reason. This girl is a camera "wiz."

"O" My Goodness . . .

All clients (and their kids) bring something to the table and each creates a uniqueness to every shoot, but all I could say when I got to work with this young woman today was "'O' My Word!" Worked with "O" as part of a commercial modeling session and believe it or not, this was her very first go at the modeling thing. Will certainly NOT be the last . . . I've advised her to RUN (not walk) to an agency . . . using THIS image of course. Lucky, lucky me that I got to capture this gorgeous face!

I've had the privilege of working with Ms. C three times prior to this, but not to shoot her alone (she has triplet younger siblings). I was so excited to have the chance to spend time with her not too longer ago building her modeling portfolio. We hung out together on a humid day here in Birmingham and had a blast. Love the green Gap get-up that we styled for her. She looks totally cool and hip. Thanks, "C" . . . you're gonna take the world by storm!

Although it seems far away, the holidays are drawing near. The deadline to finalize holiday card orders this year is Friday, November 4! I WILL BE LEAVING TOWN FOR 3 WEEKS NOVEMBER 17 - DECEMBER 10. I WILL NEED TIME TO COMPLETE THE DESIGNS AND FORWARD THEM TO THE LAB. MY STUDIO MANAGER, ELIZABETH MILNE, WILL BE AVAILABLE TO ASSIST WITH ORDER PICK-UPS IN MY ABSENCE.
