Lovin' the Leaves Birmingham Children's Photographer)
May 21, 2010

Okay, I admit it.  I'm cheating here. These images were actually taken last fall (see the leaves below), but I've had a backlog of images that never made it on the blog last year and I've been a bit under the weather this week, so I'm pulling from my "stock."  Nonetheless, little "E" is so adorable and was so much fun, I wanted to give her her due.  We had an action-packed day with lots of people (she's a triplet, watch for her brother and sister to appear soon) and has an older sister as well.  Hanging out with the "G" family is always exciting and energetic.  I look forward to capturing the triplets and their older sister, "C", on the triplets' birthday. Last November, we had a sparky warm fall day.

Little Ms. "M" and Little Sister "M"
May 11, 2010

You may recognize Ms. M from previous blog postings (I've photographed now four times, dating back to before she was one).  Now, meet "M's" younger sister, "B."  Both super cuties.  They both have dad's Scottish blue eyes . . .

Lovely Little "L"
May 3, 2010

We started out a few weeks ago on what turned out to be one of the coldest mornings in metro Detroit (at least, for what is supposed to be Spring around here).  Little "L" was a trooper but it just didn't work.  We were ALL cold.  So, we adjourned and continued the session for later that day.  What a payoff!  Grandma and Grandpa helped out (along with a certain red, furry friend) and we had a blast!  Can't wait to work with "L" and her family again very soon.

Energetic "E" Turns One
May 1, 2010

I've photographed E since before he was born (see February 23, 2009 blog posting "It's a Boy," and Welcome Baby "E" - First 48 Newborn Photography) and had a blast photographing him around his first birthday.  Such personality and full of smiles, just like his big brother "J" (see a couple of shots of "J" at the end of the post -- and in case you're wondering why we have a ton of "E" and only a few of "J," that's because mom is doing a good job of giving "E" his own spotlight and not following in the shadows of his older sibling).

Also, we're doing a one of a kind fundraising event for the Susan G. Komen Three Day Walk for the Cure.  The photography even will take place June 12 in Royal Oak. Urban Kids Photography will offer a unique reduced-cost collection and will donate all of the profits to support the cause.  The event is open to any existing Urban Kids client (anyone who has had a session in the last three years or who has an upcoming session booked for 2010; sorry, no new clients).  The collection will be valued at $545 and will include a mini session, one 8x10, (5) 5x7s, and a set of 8 wallets for $295.  We'll be e-mailing clients directly on how to participate.  Eight spots will be available.  Click here for more information and be in touch to reserve your slot.
