Got to work with this great guy not too long ago. This senior is smart, well-traveled, and about to make a splash in the world (he just returned from volunteering in a medical clinic in Africa -- how cool is that?). We had a good time in Birmingham just hanging out for a short time and I love the relaxed, natrual looks he gave. Thanks, "W"!

"A" and "O's" Big Walk-On

"A" is a young model who is about to explode on the LA (and Detroit) scene. We did these modeling shots for his comp card in Royal Oak on Sunday evening. He's such a cutie and mom did an awesome job styling him (I'll have to get her to join my styling team!).

With the film and talent industry coming to Detroit, everyone wants a walk-on, including the bull dog, "O." He was literally just wandering by (with his owner, "M," of course) and we thought he was just so darn cute, we asked to borrow him for a few shots. No joke! Boy, I had no idea what a prima donna "O" would be (would only drink Evian from his bowl) or that I was paying union rates -- just joking. "O" was sweet, loveable, and very well coiffed. Perfect for the part. Thanks guys!

Swing Shift

First of all, I really can't believe I let 10 days go by without a post. It's been very busy around here . . . I've FINISHED the new web site and will be flipping the switch in the next day or so. Keep your eyes open for that. I'M SO EXCITED - new look, new portfolio, new products. In the meantime, I had but a moment to peek at my morning session before clearing the camera, taking out the garbage, walking the dog, then heading back out for my second shift (the afternoon shoot - wait til you see those!). I love this little guy. "J" has the smiliest eyes and is such a happy little boy. I always love spending time with him and his family. More to come . . .

Twins & A Bit of News

The "O" girls and I had a great time a few weeks ago in downtown Birmingham. These two have such different personalities but are both beautiful behind the lens. I'll be working with them both again next month (they booked a "two-fer") so we'll be playing more. They're sporting the beautiful Matilda Jane dresses that I know mom loves this time around and I can't wait to see what mom puts them in next. Thanks ladies!

A couple of new things to announce! At the advice of my sage PPA advisors (Ann Monteith and my mentor, Lori Nordstrom), I will be phasing out the "Karen Lippowiths Photography" name and moving toward the "Urban Kids Photography" name exclusively. I've been operating both simultaneously for some time now and it's a pain! With the change, I'll be announcing a COMPLETELY new product line, new web site, new staff, and new look. Same me and same great photos. The new product line is already in effect (with even more new products coming on line shortly) and the new web site is scheduled to launch next week. YAY!

A small but helpful note is that we now accept American Express in addition to Visa, MasterCard, and Discover.

Beautiful Baby "G"

We had such a beautiful day a few weeks ago with Baby "G". She has the most sparkling eyes and darkest full head of hair. She really shines in the light. I really enjoyed working with her and her mom and dad (and Boomer) and will be watching her grow as part of the Oh Baby! baby plan. Keep an eye out for her throughout the year.
