Indian Summer . . . Fun with "A" and "N"

I mentioned recently that I've had the privilege of working with more Indian families this summer than I have for most of my professional career . . . 5 families within a span of 6 weeks! LOVE working with little ones with glossy dark hair, smooth dark skin, and beautiful big brown eyes. I especially LOVED working with the "M" family. Met them earlier this year at the Charlotte's Wings event and knew from the minute we met that we were going to have fun! The girls were so adorable and mom and dad were awesome, I marveled at mom and dad's patience and ability to laugh through it all . . . if they could all only be like these four!

Seaside with "G" . . . Bay Harbor "Day at the Beach" Session

For the second year in a row this year, we met up with a few clients at the Inn at Bay Harbor in Petoskey, MI. It was a perfect weekend and we spent it with with some of our most favorite clients. I've been watching "G" grow since she was 3 months old and what fun it was to watch her frolick along the beach and built sand castles with my son. I absolutely LOVE these clean, crisp images of little G playing on the rocky bluff. So sad that the "M" family is leaving Michigan but I look forward to continuing our work together via travel nonetheless.

Love the "L" Family

It's such a joy to meet up with old friends so many years after losing touch. That was exactly the case when "A" (mom) and I reconnected at the Urban Kids Grand Opening event in April. She and I had AP English together nearly 20 years ago (but who's counting?) and she hasn't changed a bit in those years. I had the privilege of working with her, her wonderfully kind husband, "K," and her two beautiful (inside and out) little girls, "K" and "R." I am absolutely IN LOVE with the first sibling shot below. Reminds me of me and my sister at about this age. Thanks for the fun, guys!

Forest Walk with "J" and "L"

One of the rewards of growing a business over time is working with repeat clients and watching the children grow. I worked with ADORABLE "J" and "L" two years ago and had the privilege of seeing them again not long ago. Mom hand knitted each of the sweaters in time for our session and we met up at the Johnson Nature Center in Bloomfield Hills. Love these kiddos . . . sweet and solemn looks are my favorite and nothing like deep brown eyes and beautiful skin. Thanks, "M" family! See you again next year I hope :)

The "B" Bunch

I've been so caught up last month in my home reno project (started with the master bathroom and now moving on to Connor's bathroom . . . pics to come as soon as the new bathroom faucet arrives tomorrow), I contemplated turning in my camera for a compound miter saw. I was so busy I barely took the time to breathe, let alone update the blog. I have to say I'm lovin' the home reno experience and TOTALLY loving the results!

Things have been humming along nicely at the studio this summer and we're gearing up for a big wave of sessions in the next few months as we're rolling out a special proejct with Bec & Sam's boutique and a few other partner organizations (details TBA). This means we will be CLOSING THE 2011 BOOKING SCHEDULE within the next week or so to make room for these special sessions. We've been lucky to have a great group of kids and young adults visit us this summer, including the four lovely ladies below. The "B" bunch visited us on a humid hot day (that pretty much describes any day this summer). I worked with two of the four girls a few years ago and they returned with their cousins, also sisters. These ladies were so much fun . . . energetic, easy-going, and I learned a thing or two about feathers and the vital importance of Glee. Thanks, ladies!
