"E" had a great time playing at the flower box in Royal Oak recently. She was happiest jumping up and down from the ledge and playing with the petals. It was mom's idea to head over to this [very crowded] area. I was nervous (I looked at the crowds and thought "this will never work") but with a little negotiation (more like public plea), we managed to clear the area and got some great shots. Thanks "E" and mommy. Look out for more of this blue-eyed beauty as we'll be working together again this fall! |

These two beauties were lots of fun to work with a few weeks ago in Royal Oak. I made "M" take off her many beautiful friendship bracelets, but I think she recovered nicely (no snarls when I saw her again today). Mom knitted all of the beautiful pieces you see in the shots. I think she was taken aback by how much the photos age her tween girls (if it weren't for the braces, you'd think these girls were in high school). I really hope to have a chance to see these gals again! |

Young "J" was full of great smiles and looks during our recent mini-session in Royal Oak. Love the warm sunny orange glow and the cool sparkle in his eyes! His whole look just says "Summer!" |

These two were colorful in so many ways, not just in their picture perfect outfits. They were both sweethearts and actually agreed to hang out together for me. We got a bunch of great sib shots and shots of each of them on their own. They both have that sunny glow and fiery eyes. I can't wait to show mom the rest! Thanks, "H" and "E." |

At the end of seven awesome sessions last night in Royal Oak (amid massive crowds from the Detroit Dream Cruise), I decided to pop into Starbucks to get a refreshing iced chai latte for the road. The man behind me noticed the camera around my neck and said "There's a cute dog on a cool car outside if you want to get a shot." Keep in mind, I often get parents asking "Can you take a quick picture of my child?" as I'm out and about on the street. My instant reflex is to politely decline. When I walked outside, however, I realized this guy wasn't kidding. This was an awesome shot waiting to be captured. Buddy the dog is trained to sit on the back of the car and wait for his owner, "K." He sat there the whole time and he's a beautiful dog! Just as I started snapping away, strangers started coming up with their cameras and started photographing him as well. This little 8lb. pooch had his own paparazzi! As you can see, Buddy got the last laugh. So this is just a fun "throw in" . . . I REALLY DON'T shoot pets, but I couldn't resist! |

I really enjoyed working with the "O" twins last week! "A" and "G" are both so adorable and better models than either of them wanted to be (they thought they had my number but I was the one who had theirs- LOL). We had a blast -- we hung around the house, ate LOTS of red licorice, went for a walk in the woods, fed the deer, found a secret hideaway . . . it was all such an adventure! I can't wait to work with both of them again soon. Thanks, ladies! :) |
